Updated Coach Media Library

At GLF.Locker, we are continuing to develop our systems to provide coaches with more functionality one the go, with a focus on developing the GLF.Locker App.

However, we still understand that a number of coaches want to perform a number of important actions from the web and similarly, students will have a diverse range of needs and preferences for how they engage with your services. One of these areas is the ability to view and upload media to then share with students on the web.

We are  therefore working to update the range of media areas for Coach and Student and the first phase of this is the updated Coach Media Library.

Overview of Media Library

This is accessible from the Coach user role, under the 'Media' menu navigation. On this screen, you will see a grid view of all media that has been uploaded to the Media Library. This includes media added directly into a lesson or uploaded to the Media Library on the web.

Media will also show here that has been added to the Feed or Library tabs in the 3.0 version of the App under the new Media feature. Media that is removed from these areas on the App will not impact the media that has been shared to students.

On this screen, you will also see in the filter drop down, 'All media' which will automatically be selected. In this first phase, you can click the Media file and view/play this in the pop up display:

Media can then be filtered by using the Search field, search by date using the calendar picker and the media type filters. You can search across four media file types:

  1. Video
  2. Photo
  3. Audio
  4. Document

After refining your search criteria, the media files will automatically re-populate:

Adding & Managing Notes

You can also add and view template notes to your Media Library. This can be viewed and managed using the Notes button in the top right corner of the Media Library screen.

On this screen, you can view saved notes and add new templates notes that can then be shared directly with a student via the Lesson Media Screen. This is useful if you have for example written guidance on drills or coaching tips. You can add a Note Title, Note content and then also mark the note as Private:

Uploading Media:

You can upload new media using the plus icon in the top right corner of the screen. From the drop down option you can then select from the media types:

Depending on the media type you select, you can then create a media name, description and upload the media type. For the Video Media, you can also upload a thumbnail image. Once uploaded, the media will appear in your media library on the App and Web:

In this first phase, any media that is added to your library on the web, can then be shared with your students via the Lesson or Class Media screen. In future phases, you will be able to share media directly to your students from within your Library and also share these to their feed only or tag to a lesson/ class booking.
